This visual design project was created together with Remco van Baren, in collaboration with food designer Katja Gruijters for the Netherlands Institute for Sound & Vision. The event was part of a larger food design experience developed by Katja, commissioned by Sound & Vision. Photography for the project was done by Paul Ridderhof.
The dinner gave guests a unique way to experience Sound & Vision, a place where past, present, and future of media come together, whether in the colorful Media Museum, the archive depot, online, or on location. On September 25, guests were invited on a time-travel journey through past, present, and future, with food design, music, and speakers guiding the experience.
Our role focused on creating the graphic identity and visual materials that supported this concept and connected each part of the evening into one cohesive story. The visuals reflected the atmosphere of each time period, the nostalgia of the past, the transformation of the present, and the experimental, uncertain future. Through typography, layout, and imagery, the design became an integral part of the storytelling and overall experience.
