Back and Forth Dinner

This visual design project was created together with Remco van Baren, under the guidance of OPA (Design Platform Arnhem) and food designer Katja Gruijters. The project was part of the Back & Forth Dinner, an event celebrating two milestones: the 20th anniversary of OPA and the 50th anniversary of ArtEZ Product Design Arnhem. Photography for the project was done by David Jagersma.
The dinner took place in the garden of Museum Arnhem and guided guests on a journey through time, marking the passing of years. The main theme, Back & Forth, was translated into three food installations: Real or Illusion, Slow or Fast, and Past or Future. Each moment invited guests to make choices about taste, time, and personal experience, all connected through food and storytelling.
Our role focused on designing the visual identity and graphic materials for the event.
The visuals supported the concept of movement through time, reflecting the contrast between past and future, fast and slow, real and imagined. Through typography, color,
and composition, the design connected each chapter of the evening into one narrative.
